Volunteer
Opportunities
Gift Shop
Gift Shop volunteers staff the hospital's gift shop
between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Duties include: helping
customers make selections, ringing up purchases, as well as opening
and closing the gift shop depending on the hours worked.
Reception
Reception area volunteers direct visitors to patient's
rooms, register people as they come in for outpatient services and
help with special projects for the Patient Access Department.
Mail Delivery
Mail volunteers sort and deliver the daily mail as well
as collect and distribute inter-office mail.
Emergency Room
Emergency room volunteers assist E.R. patients and staff
and accompany patients to the Lab and X-ray.
Home Health Hospice
Home Health Hospice volunteers visit hospice patients
in their homes and assist them in a variety of ways.
Meals on Wheels
Volunteers deliver meals to people who are unable to
prepare hot nutritious meals for themselves throughout Madison County.
Some volunteers help deliver meals to clients who dine at congregate
sites in South Solon, West Jefferson or Mount Sterling.
Consumer
Health Library

The Consumer Health Library and Cancer Resource Center encompasses
a broad spectrum of information for area residents. Volunteers are
needed to help visitors find information about health issues on
the Internet and download the information to a printer. Volunteers
also help visitors find information in the video library and assist
them with the television and video equipment at the center. In addition,
the center has a library of reading materials on a variety of health
related topics.
There are a variety of other volunteer opportunities including:
laundry, sewing, working with patients in extended care, pharmacy,
and the fitness center. |
