According to the Battelle Breast Care Center, “breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among U.S. women.”
However, due to increased awareness and early detection, as of 2008, there are about 2.5 million women in the U.S. who have survived breast cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Early detection and information are the keys to protecting yourself. Surgery of London, Dr. Donald E. Hura, would like to help by providing public awareness of this disease. |
During the month of October Dr. Hura will provide FREE breast cancer screening appointments. The appointment will include a brief medical history, exam, and educational materials. Mammograms will not be offered, but can be provided at Madison County Hospital. Your visit will include light refreshments and a chance to win a basket of “pampering” items.
Dr. Hura practices general surgery and is skilled in all general surgical procedures including:
- Abdominal surgery
- Breast care: biopsy, sentinel node, lumpectomy, mastectomy
- Colon resection
- Hernia repair: umbilical, ventral, inguinal, and hiatal
- Laparoscopic appendectomy
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- Lymph node biopsy
- Skin procedures: biopsy and lesion/mass removal
- Splenectomy
- Thyroidectomy
