Madison County Hospital’s Home Health and Hospice program is committed to meeting the needs of homebound and hospice patients who live in Madison and surrounding counties.

Home Health Care

Coming home from the hospital can be a blessing. It can also be a burden on a family if your loved one still requires some extra help.

Our Home Health program can help by bringing specialized nursing care and other therapeutic services right to your door. Any qualifying patient who requires skilled intermittent nursing or physical therapy services is eligible for Home Health care, if their physician orders such care. These services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing assistance, home health aid services, and social services.

The dedicated professionals in our Home Health program work in conjunction with your loved one's physician. They strive to restore patients to optimal health and function through home health aide services, intermittent skilled nursing visits, and occupational, physical and speech therapies.

Welcome Home

Welcome Home is an outreach program for new moms of Madison County. Regardless of where you deliver, Welcome Home offers a skilled nursing visit in your home. The nurse provides a newborn assessment, information and answers any questions or addresses concerns the parent or parents may have. The nurse also instructs in newborn care, immunization schedule and infant nutrition including breastfeeding.

Hospice Care

When a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments, Hospice improves the quality of your loved one's last days by offering dignity and comfort care measures.

Hospice is a special kind of caring to help your loved one live life to the fullest, neither hastening nor prolonging life. The dedicated professionals and volunteers who work closely with our physicians ensure that the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of your loved one are met. They offer patients pain and symptom management, professional nursing visits, medical social service and spiritual assistance from our hospice chaplain. They also provide bereavement support for families.

Madison County Hospital Home Health and Hospice is certified by Medicare and Medicaid. Patients are accepted regardless of their ability to pay. The generosity of friends and families who provide support through donations and memorial gifts, allow us to offer services to all those in need.
