Patient Care
Madison County Hospital offers cancer treatment services including
diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy. Oncology patients at Madison
County Hospital have access to the most advanced treatment options
available anywhere.
Through our partnership with Mt. Carmel Health System in Columbus,
Madison County Hospital continues to develop more services related
to cancer care, including clinical trials.
Our director of oncology services, Dr. Tarek Chidiac, is board
certified in both oncology and hematology. He offers treatments
for blood disorders (hematology) such as anemia, hemophilia, and
sickle cell in addition to oncology services.
Resource Center
In partnership with the American Cancer Society, Madison County
Hospital's Consumer Health Library and Cancer Resource Center
offers a broad spectrum of information for area residents. The
center allows residents to look up information about health issues
on their own, or with assistance. The center is equipped with
a computer complete with Internet access and a printer to download
information. There is also a video library with a television and
videocassette recorder to watch informational videos at the center.
In addition, the center has a library of reading materials on
a variety of health-related topics.
Support Group
The Coping with Cancer support group meets at 6 p.m. the second
Monday of every month, September through November and January
through May, in the Harley Room at Madison County Hospital. Coping
with Cancer was designed to bring cancer patients and survivors
together, regardless of the type of cancer they experienced. Everyone
whose life has been touched by cancer is invited to attend. Join
the group each month for dinner and a time to learn, relax and
enjoy the company of others who can relate to your cancer journey.
