Central Scheduling
Madison County Hospital is proud
to offer convenient scheduling for several departments and physicians
through Central Scheduling, a division of Patient Information Services.
Central Scheduling allows the patient to make one phone call to
schedule appointments and/or make adjustments to current appointments
without having to place several calls.
Patients wishing to schedule appointments for Audiology, Pre-Admission
Testing for Surgery, Radiology, Dr. Chidiac and Dr. Satiani may
contact Central Scheduling.
Central scheduling hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00am till
5:00pm. Patients may leave messages after hours and their calls
will be returned.

Diabetic Services

Diabetes is a chronic disorder that affects millions of Americans
with varying degrees of severity. The potential for serious complications
exists if good blood sugar control is not maintained. The diabetic
resource staff at MCH works with patients to inform them of ways
to maintain their health and avoid the complications associated

Madison County Hospitals dietician can answer questions related
to diet, weight management, nutrition, and other related issues.
Extended Care Unit

The Extended Care Unit offers a comprehensive medical and rehabilitation
program that provides skilled and intermediate nursing services
for our patients. Licensed therapists provide speech, physical and
occupational therapy if necessary. Licensed nurses under the direction
of a physician provide medical care. Additional services such as
specialized physician services, radiology, laboratory services,
pharmacy, audiology, and social services are conveniently located
within the hospital.
The length of stay in the Extended Care Unit is determined by each
individual patients needs. The discharge planning process
begins prior to admission at which time patients and families discuss
goals for recuperation and plans for on-going care if needed.
An array of activities are coordinated by a trained activity director
with special attention given to the physical, mental, social, and
spiritual needs of each resident. Groups and one-on-one interaction
are offered on a daily basis.
The extended care staff is an interdisciplinary team and is dedicated
to providing the best quality of health care services to achieve
optimal outcomes for you or your loved ones.
Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels)

Madison County Hospital and LifeCare Alliance have partnered to
provide Meals on Wheels services throughout Madison County. The
Meals-on-Wheels program provides home-delivered meals for people
over the age of 60 who are unable to prepare hot nutritious meals
for themselves. Volunteers deliver meals Monday through Friday.
Those who qualify for the program may choose to enroll in the home-delivered
meal program, or dine at congregate sites in South Solon, West Jefferson
or Mount Sterling.

Laboratory

Many of Madison County Hospitals laboratory tests are completed
here in our own hospital laboratory. The laboratory is staffed 24
hours a day/7 days a week with no appointment necessary for outpatient
laboratory work. Insurance is accepted. The MCH Lab can perform
laboratory work ordered by any physician, not just those on MCH
staff. The laboratory provides a variety of occupational drug screening
choices including testing, acting as a collection site, breath alcohol
testing and providing MRO services, if necessary.
Patient Care Units

Madison County Hospital provides patient units dedicated to specific
care needs. Our inpatient care unit serves patients
who are being treated for illnesses and injuries that require constant
care. Our maternity unit provides care for new families in
a non-invasive, family friendly atmosphere. Our intensive care
unit provides care to patients who require acute services. Our
team of doctors and nurses provide constant care to stabilize and
improve the patients condition. Our rehab unit provides
interdisciplinary care to patients who are recovering from accidents,
surgery, or other illnesses that require assistance from our licensed
therapists. Our extended care unit provides comprehensive
medical and rehabilitation service with skilled and intermediate
nursing for our patients.
Medical
Records
Medical Records offers a wide range of services to physicians and
patients.
Patients wishing to request a release of information form to release
copies of their medical records may contact Patient Information
Services at 740.845.7102 or toll free at 1.866.357.4677 ext. 7102.
Patients may also request copies of records in person Monday thru
Friday 8:00am thru 4:30pm.
A signed release from the patient is required prior to releasing
the medical records. Requests for records for continuity of care
are processed immediately. In accordance with HIPPA guidelines,
all other records are processed within 30 days if they are on-site.
If records are off-site, 60 days will be required for processing.
There may be a charge associated with the copies of the records.

Pre-Admission Testing

Prior to being admitted to Madison County Hospital, you will need
to answer a short list of questions about your prior medical history
and undergo some medical tests ordered by your physician. Your answers
to the questions are confidential and the testing procedure is short.
Radiology

Madison County Hospital's Radiology Department offers a wide range
of services, including specialty services. We provide diagnostic
outpatient, inpatient, and emergency room x-rays, including fluoroscopic
procedures such as upper GI's and barium enemas. Urological procedures
such as an IVP or kidney x-rays can also be performed. Our specialty
services include: CAT Scan, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography,
and Bone Densitometry.
Social Services

Medical social workers are assigned to each patient care area and
are trained to help patients and family members deal with financial,
social and emotional problems that relate to a patients illness
or hospitalization. Members of the department work with patients
and families to help deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation.
They are also involved in the discharge planning process.
Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a technique by which sound waves are bounced into
your body, and their reflections captured by a machine, transforming
them into an image. Ultrasound does not involve radiation and does
not use dyes that need to be injected or swallowed. Ultrasound tests
are used in diagnosing and treating a variety of health issues,
including heart conditions, muscle pain, abdominal conditions, thyroid
conditions, pregnancy, and many others.
Vascular Laboratory

The vascular laboratory conducts tests related to artery and vein
conditions. Tests can be conducted to determine if obstructions
of the veins or arteries exist. These tests are used to diagnose
aneurysms and diseases of the arteries. The vascular lab also has
color flow duplex imaging (CDI) technology. CDI is used to evaluate
veins for use as a graft, or to diagnose varicose veins and valvular
incompetency.
