The Skilled Nursing and Rehab unit is an extension of a medical/surgical unit and provides transitional care to help patients of all ages recover and return home safely after a hospitalization. The unit offers a less restricting environment for patients than an acute-care hospital setting.

For patients who need extra time to recuperate under medical supervision before returning home, the skilled nursing and rehab unit offers the care they need.

The interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and therapists work together to help patients achieve a successful recovery. Planned activities such as optional outings, dinners, and Bible studies are offered. In addition, a kitchen is available for family members who want to visit.

When patients are well enough to be discharged, the hospital’s social services staff can work with patients and families to locate the necessary support or medical equipment. With the right help patients can continue to make a successful recovery at home or a in a long-term care facility.
